If you’ve been in the UK lately, you know — the sunshine has been uncharacteristically glorious.
I’ve been soaking up every bit of it I can, spending afternoons outdoors and letting my mind wander to beach escapes and countryside stays.
Naturally, that’s had me deep in holiday planning mode. I’ve started sketching out our travel calendar for the year, and I’m especially excited about:
A scenic road trip to Scotland
A return to Cornwall (always a favorite)
And hopefully some spontaneous overnight countryside getaways
✨ If you have any hotel or B&B recs, I need your help. I’m putting together a UK Boutique Hotel Guide and would love to include your favorite spots — whether it’s a charming mom-and-pop B&B, a design-led inn, or a grand countryside estate.

Now on to the fun stuff!
If I could design one perfect UK road trip, this would be it. It’s a bit ambitious, sure — but for travelers like me (especially Americans used to driving everywhere), two-hour drives feel pretty normal.
This route gives you a bit of everything:
Day 1: Tearooms + pub lunches in the Cotswolds
Day 2: Cathedral cities + gorges in Somerset
Day 3: Market towns + secret gardens in Devon/Cornwall
Day 4–5: St. Ives and the Cornish coast for that seaside finale
If that sounds like your kind of holiday — I shared all my tips, pub stops, and stays in the full guide.
Because we’re always house-dreaming over here… here are some of my favorite finds from Rightmove. And I’ve shared even more on TikTok!
And now some other bits and bobs from the internet that we loved to discover.
